We created this series of 6 x 1 minute stop motion animations for St Paul's Youth Forum. Each film was created in around a day! We had a lot of fun playing with different materials for each clip. All music created by Joanna Susskind. Animations created by Joanna Susskind & Ben Whitney.

Toad's Caravan were approached by the excellent team at Vicast to bring their start-up story to the screen. Joanna Susskind produced and directed, along with animator Bruce Cameron and designer Matt Burns to storyboard the script and bring it to life via an animated video with a pretty quick turnaround. We were very happy with the results. Enjoy!

The News + Weather is a TV news programme devised by children we worked with from nurseries in Falkirk and in Glasgow. Artists Matt Addicott, Katy Wilson and Joanna Susskind worked with the children to record their news stories and then bring them to life through news readers Matthew and Ailish from Creation Station in the virtual N+W studio.

Toad's Caravan and Starcatchers received funding from Creative Scotland to create this special news programme.

We were delighted to work with Mary's Meals on this important film which talk about their important work.

The charity chose to launch on the 20th February as it is the UN World Day of Social Justice, promoting “poverty eradication, the promotion of full employment and decent work, gender equity and access to social well-being and justice for all.”

Saving Grace tells the story of 10-year old orphan Grace, who lives in poverty in Malawi. Grace has to forage and beg for food for her and her siblings, and as a result, can’t go to school.

The four-minute animated film explains how by providing a free meal at school, Mary’s Meals can enable more children to go to school, eat, learn, and break the poverty cycle for future generations.

Music video for The Pop Ups, a Brooklyn-based kids’ band! For “Bug Out” we coordinated a virtual shoot with Jacob and Jason. There was a green screen and a loooong shot list - we think the guys did a magical job. We created the bug costumes here in Glasgow and had friends/dancers/family step in to play each part. Toad's Caravan was commissioned to create this video to promote Contact Advantage's new iPad App for car dealers. They wanted something, different, light and exciting to look at and were very pleased with the end product.

We worked with the cast of this classic Glasgow play to film the live action segments against a green screen, then took these clips in to the edit to create the bathroom scene and composit everything together to create the finished product.

When Starcatchers put a call out for film-makers to help them create a movie wit nursery kids about Hetty the Hoover, we were more than happy to oblige.

This Sucks details the story of a Hoover on a journey of love. Her friends help her along the way.

The film was made in collaboration with Toad's Caravan, Starcatchers, GFT, Platform and Glasgow City Council.

The idea for this trailer for GFF 2012 was to create an animated sequence of 2.5D paper cut-outs in a decoupage style, blending famous movie shots and scenes with Glasgow locations, thus giving the viewer a quick tour of the city and its relationship with film history.

The trail is being screened in cinemas nationwide from January 2012 - Check it out on the big screen!

Toad's Caravan created this trailer for The Citizens Theatre with Ashley Baxter on the snaps and Justin Horne on the visuals. Using photography in a 2.5D environment really helps dramatise the scenes and the characters. Much fun to shoot with Alex Ferns and Eugene O'Hare.

We created this trailer shooting both live action and stop motion scenes, bringing it together with intense sound effects to create an engaging trailer full of suspense!

This stop-motion animation was made by the Fairtrade Committee at Hutchesons' Grammar School. The group wrote the script from which we then storyboarded the full film. All the animation was created over 2 days of workshopping with Joanna Susskind at school. We hope it helps explain the journey of cocoa beans from Ghana to the UK!
